Cookies & Tracking · Effective 3 September 2026
This site sets no cookies.
Not “only essential” cookies. None. There is nothing stored on your device by this website, which is why you will never see a consent banner here.
Don't take our word for it. Open your browser's developer tools, go to the Application (Chrome, Edge) or Storage (Firefox, Safari) tab, and look under Cookies and Local Storage for this domain. You should find both empty.
What a cookie is, and why we need none
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep and hand back on later visits. They are genuinely useful for things like staying logged in or holding a shopping basket — and they are also the mechanism behind most cross-site tracking and advertising.
This site is a set of static pages describing one holiday rental. There is no account to stay logged into, no basket, no form, and no personalisation. Nothing about it needs to remember you, so nothing does.
What we store on your device
| Mechanism | Used here? |
|---|---|
| Cookies (first-party) | None |
| Cookies (third-party) | None |
| Local storage / session storage | None |
| Analytics, heatmaps, session recording | None |
| Advertising or conversion pixels | None |
| Device fingerprinting | None |
The one exception, and it is yours to trigger
The location map is served by OpenStreetMap. Embedded maps generally do set their own cookies, so we do not load it automatically. Instead you see a placeholder and a button reading “Show the interactive map”, which states plainly that OpenStreetMap will receive your IP address.
If you never press that button, no request is made to OpenStreetMap and nothing of theirs is stored. If you do press it, you are choosing to load third-party content, and OpenStreetMap's own privacy policy and cookies apply from that point. Everything the map shows is also written out in text beside it, so nothing is lost by leaving it unloaded.
Fonts, and a request we removed
This site previously loaded its typefaces from Google's font servers, which meant every visit disclosed your IP address to Google before a single word appeared. The fonts are now served from this domain instead. That request no longer happens.
Why there is no cookie banner
Consent banners exist to obtain permission for non-essential cookies and trackers. Having none, we have nothing to ask permission for — and showing a banner anyway would be theatre. If that ever changes, we will implement a real consent mechanism that blocks the tracker until you agree, and we will say so here first.
